Read the question before the passage on short texts

On shorter SAT passages, previewing the question focuses attention on relevant lines. For longer paired passages, skim structure first — thesis, counterargument, conclusion.

Underline evidence, not everything

Highlighting entire paragraphs wastes time. Mark only lines that answer the current question — Digital SAT rewards precise textual evidence.

Eliminate two wrong answers aggressively

Two options are usually clearly wrong. Cross them mentally, then compare the remaining pair against the passage — tutoring builds this elimination habit under time pressure.

Grammar questions: read aloud silently

Many Writing questions sound wrong when read slowly. If a sentence feels awkward, trust that instinct and check subject–verb agreement and punctuation.

Build stamina with full modules

Reading fatigue appears in the second module. Practise two back-to-back timed sections weekly in the eight weeks before test day.
